Marion Archer dreamed of the The Revelators Dance Troupe over 30 years ago after seeing the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater of Harlem performance. Her passion for dance began at Washington Junior HS and then moved to the Boys and Girls Club of Mt. Vernon, which remains the home base for the dance troupe. Although the original premise of the dance troupe was spiritually based, the company has evolved to include various dance forms such as African, tap and dances from other countries and cultures.
The Revelators Dance Troupe is a revolving collection of young people and teaching artists. Through the years, company alumni have relocated outside of the tri-state area and taken the techniques and principles of The Revelators with them. They credit their programs to the fire lit by the passion Marion instilled in them during their childhood and teen years.

After years of volunteering her services for the Boys and Girls Club, Marion’s avocation became her vocation when she was hired by the Mt. Vernon Board of Education to teach dance at Nellie Thornton Elementary School. She taught African Dance and the art of communication through dance. She currently is working with Cecil Parker Elementary School and Jazz Co in Eastchester High Schools and Tuckahoe High School. Over the summer she teaches dance at the Fairview Greenburg Community Center. Marion teaches several forms of African Dance originating from Liberia and Guinea. She has also worked with the Westchester Arts Council to expand her expertise to the entire county of Westchester.
Marion an ordained minister at Emmanuel Pentecostal Faith Temple. With a Bachelors of Theology from Huegee Theological Institute. She reside in Yonkers, NY with their beloved 15 year-old son, Travis.
Marion is also a 2-year breast cancer survivor. She appreciate the opportunity to thank God, and to discuss a critical program that she credit. The New York State Cancer Services Program Early Detection Program.
